Brenda LaTowsky, MD attended the University of Nebraska Medical College, graduating amongst the top in her class. During that time, she was selected for the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. LaTowsky completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She then completed her Dermatology residency in Houston at the world-renowned University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where her first-class training emphasized the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, as well as many other skin disorders. She was selected for an esteemed Laser and Cosmetic Surgery fellowship at SkinCare Physicians in Boston, MA. During that time, Dr. LaTowsky learned highly-specialized techniques in cosmetic dermatology, including advanced neuromodulator procedures, injectable fillers, liposuction, autologous fat transfer, hair transplantation, laser procedures, and cosmetic and skin cancer surgery.
Dr. LaTowsky founded Clear Dermatology and Aesthetics Center in 2012. Her goal was to create a practice to serve the community by:
Providing the highest quality of dermatologic care for patients, including nurturing of the physician-patient relationship.
Providing a supportive place for staff to work, including mentoring of staff who later go on to become physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Advancing the field of medicine through clinical research and the teaching of medical students and resident physicians.
In order to fulfill her vision and goals, and to continue to bring these standards of quality care to an even larger number of patients, Dr. LaTowsky began to build her team of caring professionals. She now has an incredible team of four physicians, including a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, and four highly-experienced dermatology physician assistants. Together, they serve patients out of three locations, including their recently opened state-of-the-art Paradise Valley location.
In 2018, Dr. LaTowsky formed Investigate MD, a dermatologic clinical research company that conducts medical and cosmetic dermatologic research. Dr. LaTowsky, along with her research team, have been instrumental in the FDA-approval and clearance of multiple drugs, technologies and devices that have improved dermatologic care for patients, and that have opened the door for future innovation. They have participated in over 100 clinical trials to date.
In 2021, she formed Clear VANity, which is a mobile concept, providing minimally invasive cosmetic procedures in a convenient, clean and professional setting. The office is housed in a customized Mercedes Sprinter Van, and has been a great option for patients who did not want to come into an office during the COVID-19 pandemic, and also has been available as support for local business during grand openings and events.
Dr. LaTowsky is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society of Laser and Medicine, Women’s Dermatologic Society, Arizona Dermatologic Society, Phoenix Dermatologic Society and Maricopa Medical Society. She has often been an invited speaker to teach other physicians at these society meetings. She served on the Board of Directors for Maricopa Medical Society during the challenging years of 2020 and 2021.
Students and residents rotate with Dr. LaTowsky frequently from the University of Arizona Medical School, Mayo Scottsdale Dermatology Residency Program and Honor Health Family Physician and Dermatology Residency Programs.
Dr. LaTowsky has also served as an investigator for many research studies involving cutting-edge cosmetic technologies, including the latest innovations in cellulite and minimally-invasive body contouring and has also developed her own research studies. She has written and lectured extensively on medical and cosmetic dermatology subjects, and her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. LaTowsky has also authored chapters on such topics as photodynamic therapy, and the prevention and treatment of scars. She actively serves as a journal reviewer for Dermatologic Surgery, Archives of Dermatology and International Journal of Dermatology.
As a nationally-recognized cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. LaTowsky is known for her attention to detail and expert skill. She believes that smaller, earlier interventions allow her patients to maintain a more balanced, youthful appearance, while at the same time preventing or slowing the signs of aging. By using an innovative, comprehensive approach, Dr. LaTowsky creates personalized treatment plans so that her patients are able to achieve optimal results and desired outcomes.

. Outside of her passion for dermatology, Dr. LaTowsky enjoys hiking, reading, supporting the ASU Gammage and community outreach. She loves spending time with her husband, Aaron, who serves the Arizona community as a urologist, and her three children.
