Dr. Spencer Hawkins is a double board-certified dermatologist and micrographic dermatologic surgeon, fellowship-trained in hair restoration. He is the founder and medical director of Hair Medicine Institute in Atlanta, GA. After earning his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine, he completed dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, followed by a micrographic dermatologic surgery fellowship in northern Michigan and an ISHRS-accredited hair restoration fellowship in Orlando. He also completed an ASLMS preceptorship in cosmetic dermatology and laser medicine under Dr. Mathew Avram at Harvard/MGH. Dr. Hawkins was among the first to publish a case series on JAK inhibitors for scarring alopecia and speaks nationally at Masters of Aesthetics, ASLMS, Skinsanity, and STRAND Network, sharing expertise with hundreds of dermatologists and aesthetic providers. His wife’s experience with alopecia areata drives his mission to deliver the expertise and individualized care that patients with hair loss too often struggle to find.
