Dr. Emily L. Guo is a board-certified fellowship trained laser and cosmetic dermatologist practicing at Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center in Houston, Texas. She received her medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed her dermatology residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she was selected to serve as Chief Resident. Subsequently, she completed a prestigious American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery fellowship with Dr. Paul Friedman. Dr. Guo has extensive training in lasers, energy-based devices, and injectable treatments.
Dr. Guo is actively involved in philanthropic initiatives providing pro bono laser treatment for patients with vascular birthmarks and for survivors of human trafficking with branding tattoos. She was a founding member of the ASLMS New Beginnings Branding Tattoo Removal Program and helped establish the program from its inception to expand access to laser tattoo removal for survivors of human trafficking. She previously served as Chair of the Digital Communications Committee for ASLMS (2024-2025), and is a member of the Leon Goldman Circle. She is also an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where she contributes to resident education and academic programming.
