This session will cover the following information. Medical lasers and energy-based devices are relatively under-utilized on patients with skin of color due to concerns regarding risk of pigmentary and other complications in Fitzpatrick skin phototypes IV-VI.
Medical lasers and energy-based devices can be used safely and effectively to treat a range of dermatologic concerns in patients with skin of color.
Careful selection of device type, settings, pre-and post-procedure precautions are key to optimizing outcomes for energy-based treatments in skin of color.
