Dr. Huerth is a board-certified dermatologist and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery fellowship-trained cosmetic and laser surgeon. She is highly sought after for her ability to meld medicine and artistry, helping patients rejuvenate and carefully enhance their natural features, solving complex aesthetic concerns, and utilizing lasers and other energy-based devices to optimize the treatment of various skin and hair disorders (acne, rosacea, alopecia…etc.) She is known for taking a thoughtful, individualized, and carefully curated approach to help patients reach their aesthetic goals.
Dr. Huerth graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a double major in English and media arts. She also holds master’s degrees in education from both the University of Massachusetts and Northeastern University, earned during the decade she spent teaching mathematics for Boston Public Schools. Dr. Huerth completed her post-baccalaureate pre-medical coursework at Harvard University, and earned her degree in medicine from the University at Buffalo. For her work on autoimmune bullous diseases, Dr. Huerth was awarded the Marvin N. Winer Class of 1939 Award for Outstanding Dermatologic Research by her medical school. She completed her dermatology residency at Howard University in Washington DC, serving as chief resident during her final year of training. It was during her time at Howard University that Dr. Huerth developed expertise in treating pigmentary disorders, scarring, and hair loss in patients with skin of color.
Dr. Huerth has authored chapters in several authoritative dermatology textbooks, including Skin Lightening Agents in the 5th edition of the Handbook of Cosmetic Science and Technology (2022), Lasers and Lights in Essentials for Aesthetic Dermatology in Ethnic Skin: Practice and Procedure (2023), and Tumescent Liposuction in Taylor and Kelly’s Dermatology for Skin of Color (2026). She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed dermatology journals, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. Dr. Huerth has regularly presented her work at prestigious dermatology conferences, including the annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Lasers in Surgery and Medicine.
